Supporting Our School, Together

At Old Buckenham High School, we’re incredibly proud of the strong sense of community that surrounds our school — and at the heart of that is the Friends of OBHS, a dedicated group of parents and carers who give their time to help enhance the educational experience of all our students.

Friends of OBHS works closely with the school to raise much-needed funds that directly benefit pupils, helping to provide additional resources, support school events, and enrich learning opportunities across all year groups.

About Us

The Friends of OBHS is a friendly, informal committee of parents and carers who usually meet a couple of times a term. We help at school events such as concerts and productions — selling refreshments, organising raffles, and running stalls. We also co-ordinate wider fundraising efforts throughout the year.

In the 12 months prior to lockdown, Friends of OBHS raised almost £3,000, every penny of which was donated back into school. These funds helped to support various departments with new resources and contributed to wider school projects that directly benefited our students.

We are always grateful for the time, energy, and generosity of our parent community. Whether you're able to attend meetings, help out at events, or simply lend a hand when needed, your involvement makes a real difference.

Current Fundraising Activities

Despite recent challenges, there are still several ways families can support our fundraising efforts:

Bag2School – Clothing Recycling Project

We’re proud to once again be part of the Bag2School initiative — a fantastic scheme that recycles quality second-hand clothing. It’s simple: just fill a bag with clean, good-quality clothing and drop it at the school’s Main Reception during school hours.
The more we collect, the more we raise — all bags are weighed and converted into donations for OBHS!

Easyfundraising – Raise Money While You Shop Online

Did you know you can raise money for OBHS every time you shop online, at no extra cost?
By using easyfundraising.org.uk, you can support us when shopping with over 4,300 popular retailers — including Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS and more.
To date, we’ve already raised nearly £350 through easyfundraising alone — thank you to everyone who’s taken part!
