Uniform
Looking smart, feeling proud, ready to learn
At OBHS, wearing the correct uniform isn’t just about following rules — it’s about showing that you’re part of our school community. When we all wear the same smart uniform, we send a clear message:
- We take pride in ourselves
- We respect each other
- We’re ready to work hard and do our best
What You Need to Wear
You can find the full uniform list below
but here’s a quick reminder of the basics:
- OBHS blazer
- OBHS tie
- White shirt (tucked in)
- Black tailored trousers or OBHS-approved skirt
- Black school shoes
- No hoodies, trainers or excessive jewellery
PE kit must be worn for PE lessons only — not during the rest of the school day.
Uniform Checks
When you arrive each morning, staff will greet you at the gate and check your uniform. This isn’t about catching you out — it’s about helping everyone start the day the right way.
If you don’t have the correct uniform and don’t have a note from home, you’ll be given a lunchtime detention that day.
If at any point during the day something isn’t right, you’ll be asked to ‘stop and fix’ it straight away. If you're polite and follow the instruction, that’s usually the end of it.
What If There’s a Problem?
We understand that sometimes things happen — maybe your shoes break, or your tie is lost. If there’s a reason you’re not in the correct uniform, your parent or carer should send a note, email or phone call to school.
When we know, you’ll be given a ‘green card’ to show staff if you’re asked about it.
We will also loan you with a tie or a blazer as we want you to be part of the team!
Help with Uniform
If you’re finding it hard to get everything you need for school, speak to your form tutor or Head of Key Stage. We can help — and it will always be handled with respect and sensitivity.
Why It Matters
Wearing the right uniform helps you:
- Show respect for your learning
- Focus on your work, not what everyone’s wearing
- Feel part of a team
- Be treated like the responsible young person you are
Looking smart. Feeling proud. Ready to learn.
That’s the OBHS way.
